This is your time to be a HERO
We’re raising funds to support 23 year old student Reem and her family from Northern Gaza, which is under military occupation.
Reem and her family are facing a life threatening situation. They now live in displacement in a school in North Gaza City, having been forcibly displaced from Jabalia Camp, Northern Gaza Strip.
Your support is crucial to their survival. They need funds for food and winter clothes. Evacuation to the safety of Egypt is now a secondary goal.
Evacuation is very expensive and not possible to do without a special agency.
We’d love it if you could make any donation to help us achieve our mission and save their lives.
Thank you
Your donation will be used to buy food and winter clothes. The rest of the funds will go towards their evacuation process.
“We are very thankful for any help you can provide us with.
Even the smallest amount makes a difference.
If you cannot donate, please share our story.”
Reem Dee, Gaza
Our story
REEM, 23 years old
My name is Reem Dee. I am from Gaza. I graduated from university as a telecommunications and computer engineer. I have passion for Mathematics and Physics. One day I would like to work in a global company. My life was full of joy, just as everyone’s my age until the war began. I lost everything. My dreams became distant. I cannot find words to express the brokenness of my heart and the situation we have to undergo every single day. Words of comfort are unfortunately not enough anymore. We struggle every day.
MOM, 48 years old
My Mom is a psychiatrist. She studied and graduated in Libya. She was the owner of a psychiatric clinic. Her clinic was completely destroyed in the war. She lost everything in an instant.
DAD, 55 years old
My Dad graduated from Hannover University in Germany. He worked as the General Manager of the Water and Sanitation Department. He lost his job and source of income. Now he is a volunteer in the Emergancy Department. He helps people access clean, safe, and drinkable water.
LULU, 5 years old
My sister Lulu went to kindergarten. She only got to enjoy 5 weeks of school before the war begun. Lulu doesn’t know what childhood is. She doesn’t get to play and enjoy life as a regular child. She helps with gathering firewood.
MUHHAMED, 19 years old
My brother Muhammed was studying Business Administration. His university was destroyed as well as his dreams. The company he worked for is a ruin now, so is his car.
HANAN, 26 years old
My sister Hanan was pursuing a Master’s s degree in Accounting at the Islamic University. She worked as an accountant. Both, her university and work place were completely destroyed.
MARAM, 14 years old
My sister Maram was a middle school student. She loves drawing, fashion design, and ballet. Due to war, all her ambitions have turned into rubble.
SAMIR, 20 years old
My cousin Samir is a very kind young man. His passion has always been studying multimedia. When he was trying to escape a military raid, he was hit by a stray shrapnel in his leg. He suffered fro 2 long days without medical help. When he finally reached the hospital, the doctors decided to amputate his leg. He still needs a surgery to ensure proper healing of the wound and another one to get a prosthetic limb. Now he moves around in his wheelchair.
GRANDMA, 75 years old
My grandma was born 75 years ago in the time of Nakba. Her family was displaced to Gaza. They built their homes there and lived there ever since. In this war her house was completely demolished. She was suffering in her early age and she is again suffering in her elderly time. She relies on our support nad her health conditions do not allow her to walk without support.
Our heroes
I decided to support Reem and her family because I don’t even want to imagine that something like this could happen to us. Another way of helping is not possible yet, that’s why I chose the way of contribution through crowdfunding. I wish that the evacuation is successful and that the family gets to safety asap.
I decided to support Reem because if my family were in a similar situation, I would want someone to help us too. I don’t understand politics, but children should not suffer and die anywhere.
I didn’t hesitate for a second to support Reem, and not just her. I support the entire Palestinian community and I am fundamentally opposed to what Israel is doing to the Palestinian territories. The ongoing genocide is the worst thing I have ever seen in my life. If I were a victim, I would wish that people would not be indifferent to my situation. An individual cannot do anything. A big group as we are, we can accomplish a lot. One for all and all for one. Each of us can be Reem!
I can’t change the desperate situation in Gaza, I can’t bring down the Israeli government, I can only act for myself and do what is in my power and possibilities. I believe that we will be able to save Reem’s family, just as other supporters help other suffering people. I consider war in the 21st century to be a sheer nonsense, invented by those who yearn for wealth and power, while others die senselessly for their desire. I teach Czech to Ukrainian children, their stories touch my heart. I don’t think it’s any different in Gaza, I’d even say it is worse there. I am happy to contribute to improvment of life of a Palestinian family.
